Spotify has added a new feature that calls the Release Radar. The function should be easier to keep abreast of new music from favorite artists. The playlist is automatically compiled weekly by using algorithms.

The feature is available from Friday, August 5th in both the mobile and desktop apps. Release Radar is updated every Friday with about two hours of new music. The service is made up of new music from artists that follows the user and where the most being listened to.

It is not just new releases Release Radar emits, but also recommended music based on the user’s listening habits. It is different than Discover which is not necessarily collected new music.

Release Radar is not a separate function in Spotify, but a playlist. Spotify sync the playlist on all devices, so that play anywhere is off.
