Spotlight vulnerability allows to spy on users of OS X Yosemite




It is known that OS X Yosemite collect personal user data and transmits them to the servers Apple. This is not about recording all keystrokes, or move the cursor in Windows 10, and search queries Spotlight, a list of which is sent to Apple and third parties. The problem is that the function of downloading content from other sources in the Apple Mail application allows you to lock the senders, including spammers, IP-address of the owner of the Mac, a series of data from the browser Safari, version of the operating system and Quisk Look. This is among other things increases the chances of success are the one who decides to spend a hacker attack. For this reason, it is strongly recommended to disable the function.

In turn, Technology Spotlight, indexing email content, including content on remote servers, performs load data and is drawn to the sending server. It ignores disabled in Mail function “Download content from other sources.” In other words, users of corporate mail application Apple is not possible to protect themselves from surveillance.


The only way at present to limit the collection of data for Spotlight is turned off in the settings option “Mail and Messages.” It can be found in the Spotlight -> Search Results settings OS X Yosemite.
