Start-up comes with gas-filled external battery for mobile phones




A German start-up has announced an external battery that allows mobile devices such as smartphones and tablets can be recharged. Striking to the model is that it is filled with gas and thereby quickly ‘charged’ can be.

The external battery is called Kraftwerk and according to the authors, a German start-up called eZelleron, an iPhone charging eleven times. The most striking aspect of the kraftwerk is that the device is filled with gas. This makes the whole considerably lighter than a conventional battery and moreover it takes only three seconds to refill an empty kraftwerk. Via a standard connection it must be possible throughout the world to fill the device with gascartridges.

Kraftwerk can be recharged with butane, which among other things is used in lighters and gasstelletjes for the campsite. In the housing gas is converted into electrical energy.
