State Hackers hit datacenter Interior USA




State Hackers have penetrated a computer center of the US Department of the Interior and have thereby personal data of 4 million civil servants captured. It was the system of personnel matters.

The hack affected the systems of the Office of Personnel Management , the human resource department of the US government. The intrusion was in April discovered after the service had boosted the security of its systems.

The department is working with the FBI, Homeland Security and US-CERT in investigating the hack. In June, the 4 million officials whose data may have been looted from a mail service with guidelines on how they should deal with identity theft. These include the social security numbers, job information and training dates.

US media like the Washington Post report from sources heard by US authorities to have the Chinese government hackers were behind the intrusion of the data center. Officially, the government says, however, only a foreign (e) entity or country.
