Steam gives users mistakenly insight into other people’s data – update
Steam is faced with security problems that keep users personal information from others see. Many customers of the gaming service have indicated that among other parts of credit card details are visible.
On social networks like Twitter and Reddit are reports arrived of users who have similar experiences with Steam. They seem arbitrary users to view account information, including personal data such as payment details. According to The Verge are there other things that do not go quite right, such as showing the interface in the wrong language and spontaneous logout.
The Steam Store has been offline for a while Friday, suggesting that it has been working to remedy the problems. It is now possible to log in, but at time of writing it is not known whether the problems even if they are properly mitigated.
It is unclear what the reason is that users get to see other people’s data, but may have to do with caching problems. Despite the problems account at the store remain games purchased through Steam do just playable.
Update 9:57 pm: Valve has confirmed that the issues are resolved. Showing other people’s user data according to the company indeed had to do with caching.Viewing:-194
