Study: average global Internet exceed speed 3 Mbps for the first time




Research study revealed the average global Internet speed 3 Mbps barrier for the first time, during the first quarter of this year.

The study revealed “Akamai” company, the average speed of the Internet globally is 3.1 Mbps, where average Web connection speed by 4% since the last quarter of 2012.

South Korea continued to rank first in the list of States which have the highest average speed of Internet in the world at the rate of 14.2 Mbps, followed by Japan with 11.7 Mbps and Hong Kong at the rate of 10.9 Mbps.

United States came in ninth place with 8.6 Mbps, with the first ten States are free to list the names of any Arab countries.

The study said that 123 countries around the world have seen an increase in the speed of your Internet connection, including Arab countries like Kuwait 0.7%, and the authority of Oman by 1.4%, and Iraq high is 122%.

In contrast, the “Akamai” to that volume of data traffic via mobile devices increase since the first quarter of last year, and increased by 19% in the first quarter of 2013 compared to the last quarter of 2012.

The company used in its research on traffic volume data via mobile devices, data compiled by the Ericsson company providing services in 180 countries around the world.
