Swiss manufacturer comes with 15mm f / 2.4 ultra-wide angle for DSLR’s

TH Swiss announced Irix 15mm f / 2.4. The ultra wide-angle comes in versions for Canon, Nikon and Pentax on the market and is suitable for full frame SLRs. It is the first objective of the new Swiss brand, which let’s Irix lens in Korea.

Irix 15mm f / 2.4 has no autofocus, but includes talking about electronic contacts so that the aperture can be adjusted from the camera. For the optical construction manufacturer uses fifteen lens elements in eleven groups. The minimum focusing distance is 28cm and the diaphragm, which can be set from f / 2.4 to f / 22, consisting of nine slats.

The lens has dimensions of 114x100mm and a 95mm filter thread. Also, there is a holder on the back of the lens present in order to place gelatin filters of 30x30mm. The housing of the Irix 15mm is sealed against dust and moisture.

There are two variants: the Blackstone and the Firefly. The former is built slightly heavier and sturdier. The weight is 685 grams for the Canon version and 653 grams for the Nikon version. The lighter Firefly has an ergonomic focus ring and weigh respectively 608 and 581 grams for Canon and Nikon.

The Swiss manufacturer affixes the Irix 15mm f / 2.4 lens on the market in versions with Canon EF Nikon F and Pentax K mount. From the spring it should be objective available, a suggested retail price has not been disclosed yet.
