T-Mobile begins in November with trial 4g +

T-Mobile starts in November a trial with 4g +. This should, in theory, speeds of up to 225Mbit / s on the network of the provider are possible. Competitors KPN and Vodafone use 4g + since about a year.

T-Mobile wants 4g + use by combining four blocks of 5MHz in the 1800MHz frequency band and two blocks in the lower 900MHz band. The six blocks of 37,5Mbit / s make together theoretical 225Mbit / s on who calls T-Mobile. The trial begins in November and if it succeeds, T-Mobile will be in all the places where it can start offering 4G +.

That will be so at the home addresses of about 75 percent of the Dutch. The provider is expected in October to provide a coverage of 95 percent of households using the 1800MHz band, while on the 900MHz-band late this year at 75 percent want to sit. It does admittedly involves coverage on street addresses, but not for indoor coverage.

T-Mobile has not yet determined where exactly it is testing 4G +. The advantage of 4g + is not only the increased theoretical speed, but due to the increased bandwidth, the speed should also be higher in practice. The name 4g + is a marketing name of LTE cat. 6, which is part of LTE-advanced, a set of technologies for a souped-up version of LTE.
