T-Mobile increases the price and speed of mobile internet

for prepaid customers
Provider T-Mobile increases the prices and speeds of mobile internet in the Netherlands. Call minutes and text messages also increase in price, according to the list of changes that the provider has made online.

T-Mobile will charge 10 cents per MB to prepaid customers from 24 August, instead of the 5 cents it now charges. A call minute goes from 15 to 20 cents and an SMS from 10 to 15 cents. The rates of bundles for calling minutes, text messages and mobile internet remain the same, according to the provider. This gives customers, for example, 300MB for 4.95 euros, or 1.6 cents per MB. The relatively cheapest is the 2000MB bundle for 14.95 euros, with which 1MB costs 0.7 cents.

The internet speed goes from 15 to 100 Mbit / s down and from 3 to 50 Mbit / s up. The provider says on its own forum that many prepaid customers asked for a speed increase. It is far from the maximum speeds that the network of T-Mobile can offer. The network can handle speeds up to 450Mbit / s down.

The provider says on the page about the price increases that customers can stop free of charge because of the change. Now that is not crazy, because one of the differences between prepaid and a subscription is that prepaid customers are not stuck to a contract and can therefore change providers at any time.

T-Mobile prepaid Now Per 24 August
Mobile internet per MB € 0.05 € 0.10
Mobile internet speed 15 / 3Mbit / s 100 / 50Mbit / s
Text message € 0.10 € 0.15
Call minute € 0.15 € 0.20
