T-Mobile leads drone pilot to check masts in house

T-Mobile is experimenting since September 2014 with drones to carry out inspections on its antennae. To do this more efficiently, the company is now leading a pilot himself to check the installations.

The results of the first tests in the stadium of FC Utrecht were very encouraging, says T-Mobile. According to a network specialist of the company would normally take a week to a platform to monitor all stadium antennas and antenna masts and here to take pictures of. Now that the drone flew in fifteen minutes around the stadium and made this control photos. In addition to the cost-saving benefits of using a single drone, it saves a lot of work. Do not have platforms to be unnecessarily deployed there and there is much more to work under different weather than with a platform.

The company has over 5,000 antenna sites in the Netherlands and therefore wants drones will use structural. In mid-July will start its own pilot with the inspection of antennas throughout the country.
