T-Mobile prepaid customers wear more subscriptions but loses




T-Mobile has in the past quarter more subscriptions know to wear out, but the number of prepaid customers took stronger than the increase in subscribers. Thereby decreased the total number of customers. Also significantly, profit fell by as much as 18 percent.

T-MobileAt the end of the second quarter had T-Mobile more than 3.1 million subscribers; 40,000 more than a year earlier. The number of prepaid customers declined, however, with 102,000, to around 1.5 million. This took the total number of customers off with 62,000 to approximately 4.6 million. By mid 2012, the provider still had 4.9 million customers.

Gross profit also dropped, with 18.8 percent, to 108 million euros. According to T-Mobile is mainly due to the investment in smartphones that were needed in order to attract new customers. The sales fell less, with 3.1 percent, to 406 million euros.
