When the first tablets appeared, I was often asked, why you need a tablet at all. Now the question is no longer, tablets are becoming increasingly popular and are already quite common especially in trains and planes in passengers, or to see in the coffee shop. In fact, it has gotten so that almost as many tablets as notebooks are sold per year. This has included the BAT (Association of retail technology eV) found for Germany.

Compared with last year, the number of tablets sold has increased by 145 percent in the first quarter of 2013. At the same time the number of notebooks sold fell by over 15 percent. As you can see in the above embedded infographic of Statista, characterized notebooks and tablets are now almost equal.
