Teardown shows components in iPhone 6s




A teardown of the iPhone 6s by iFixit shows the components in the iPhone 6s. The dismantling confirmed that Apple’s new smartphone has a smaller battery than its predecessor. The capacity has gone down from 1810mAh to 1715mAh.

It is still unknown whether the smaller battery capacity will shorten battery life because there are still no reviews have appeared that have tested the battery life in a systematic manner and have compared to an iPhone iOS 6 to 9.

The teardown by iFixit further shows the taptic engine, which replaces the vibrator from previous iPhones and subtler and faster feedback gives the vibrating motors that Apple so far put into its smartphones. A variant of the vibrator appeared in several variants and MacBook in Apple Watch.

The sensors feature 3D Touch, the name for the function in Apple MacBooks and Apple Watch ‘Force Touch’ and that records the pressure of the touch, making the screen difficult. In total, the display now weighs about 60 grams, compared to 45 grams for the iPhone screen 6. The sensors measure small changes in the distance between the top layer of the display and the backlight to see so how hard a user presses.

The teardown also shows the memory, which has doubled compared to the iPhone 6. It involves lpddr4 memory of Samsung with a size of 2GB, in the form of four-4Gb modules. The iPhone comes 6s Friday in include Germany, France, the United Kingdom and the United States. Update, 11:32: Meanwhile, iFixit has also begun to tear down the 6s Plus. This shows that also which has a smaller battery. The capacity goes from 2915mAh in the iPhone 6 Plus to 2750mAh in the ‘S’ version.
