Telfort and national government websites offline by failure Prolocation – update 4




By a failure of network and hosting provider Prolocation several major websites, including those of the Central Government, GeenStijl and Telfort offline. It is unclear what caused the fault correction.

Data Center An employee of Prolocation confirmed to Tweakers that there is a malfunction, but gives no further details. The cause may be located in a broken fiber cable, writes IQ Platform, an ad network that receives services at Prolocation at Twitter. Also hosting provider Domain Desk, also a customer at Prolocation, reported on Twitter that the problem is to be found in that provider.

Prolocation has many large clients including GeenStijl, sister site Dumpert, the government and Telfort. Which have so far all offline, all reports Platform IQ ad servers come back online. Also to be Domain Desk reports back online. Other clients, such as the University of Amsterdam and Centric, seem to have had no problems the problem Prolocation.

Prolocation is both a provider of network connectivity as a hosting provider. GeenStijl only connectivity takes off with the company, give the sysadmin’s website at opposite Tweakers, which indicates that the problem lies with those Prolocation branch.

Update, 13:13: Platform IQ says too early to have speculated about the cause. The cause is still struggling onbekend.Ook advertising network is still a failure.

Update, 14:03: According hoster Mihosnet everything points to a fiber breakage when Telecity2 data center in Amsterdam.

Update, 18:36: Mihosnet admittedly had a failure, but does not take off at Prolocation services. So the message of Mihosnet says nothing about the cause of Prolocations failure.

Update, 21:14: The fault seems to come to an end: multiple websites, including those of Telfort and the government, come back online.
