Tesla adds some Atari games to a new software update

Elon Musk, the director of car manufacturer Tesla, is not averse to the occasional addition of easter eggs. In that context, he recently announced that his company will add a number of classic Atari games to the Tesla cars through software update 9.0.

Musk asked on Twitter what the favorite Atari games of users are. A Twitter user summed up a personal list, after which Musk reported that he hopes to release Tempest, Missile Command and Pole Position with V9.0 in any case. The latter title is a racing game, which is witnessed by a tweet from Musk to be steered with the steering wheel of a Tesla car, provided the car is stationary.

The games will be released with this update, which will be released in about four weeks . Musk seems to be making a pretty serious job of it, as he also called on game developers to apply for a job at Tesla. He says his company wants to make fun games that are integrated into the central touchscreen, the smartphone and the car.

Elon Musk has previously indicated on Twitter that in August version 9 of Tesla’s Autopilot software will be released, which will probably enable a few functions later in the context of fully autonomous driving . The release of this new software is likely to follow in late August or early September.
