Tesla has temporarily halted the production line of the Model 3 car. A Tesla spokesman confirmed to BuzzFeed that there is a break, so that the automation can be improved.

It is a temporary break of the production process of a total of four or five days, Tesla employees report to Buzzfeed . According to them, the shutdown fell from the sky and no warning was given. Most of the employees are expected to take holidays or unpaid leave.

Between 20 and 24 February there was also a temporary break in the production of the Model 3, reported Bloomberg in March on the basis of statements made by Tesla. Even then, production was shut down for a few days to improve ‘automation and remove bottlenecks’. This temporary break was designated by Tesla as ‘not uncommon’.

Recently, Elon Musk, the CEO of Tesla, announced that too many robots were used in the production of the Model 3. According to him, it is because of this that the production numbers of this model are still not at the desired level. Musk wants more people to be added to the production process. Two weeks ago , Telsa reported that the target number of 2500 Rolling Model 3’s has still not been met. In the first week of April about 2020 copies of the Model 3 have been built.

This relatively inexpensive Tesla model has been a problem for the manufacturer for some time, and the production numbers are not always met. Earlier Musk reported that this is not only related to the high degree of automation; battery problems also play a role and the fact that the Model 3 in comparison with the Model S and X consists of much more steel, which requires more welding work.
