‘Tesla will close SolarCity by reorganizing the number of branches’

It seems that the reorganization at Tesla will have major consequences for SolarCity, the subsidiary that engages in solar panels. A number of the company’s affiliates are likely to close due to the announced dismissal wave.

This is what the Reuters news agency reports on the basis of documents that it has recognized. Reuters relies on three documents and stories from seven current and former employees. Tesla itself has not confirmed the reporting. According to the news agency, it is the intention that about a ‘dozen’ subsidiaries of SolarCity will close. These branches are located in the United States, and about sixty remain after the closure.

The closures of the stores fit in with Tesla’s intention to fire nine percent of employees worldwide, in an effort to become profitable. However, the number of jobs lost at the closure of the SolarCity stores is not clear.

SolarCity is engaged in offering and installing solar panels, and was founded by two family members of Tesla CEO Elon Musk. Later, Tesla took over the company, in a deal that many consider controversial.
