Testing Delft Hyperloop – Futuristic transport magnets

Early this year, the student team from Delft Hyperloop took second place in the qualifying round of the Hyperloop competition. The goal: making the best design for a new vehicle, the Hyperloop. Please find enclosed capsules at a rate of 1200km / h through a closed pipe system in near-vacuum.

Dutch students are currently putting the finishing touches to their design and are busy testing the various components. But how do you test a new type of vehicle if the capsule is not ready and you have no access to a tube route? Tweakers went to visit the team to investigate this and to see whether the Delft design’ll be ready in time for the real competition on a test track in California this summer.
