Find a Question:
Thai police arrest manage Silk Road
Again there is a manager of the infamous illegal online marketplace Silk Road arrested. It is Roger Thomas Clark, which according to the US Department of Justice was a key advisor of Silk Road-founder Ross Ulbricht.
The Americans made Friday announced that Clark, a 54-year-old Canadian, was arrested in Thailand. He was arrested there Thursday and is expected to be extradited to the United States. There he will have to stand trial for his role in running an illegal online marketplace, and his involvement in drug trafficking and the laundering of drug money. If he is found guilty he could receive a life sentence.
Clark operated by Silk Road under the pseudonym Variety Jones, and was one of the leaders of the trade site. According to the Americans, he has “hundreds of thousands of dollars’ received in its consultative role; he would include advice on the development of the technical infrastructure for Silk Road and gave tips to stay out of the hands of the authorities.
Earlier this year Silk Road-founder Ross Ulbricht sentenced to life imprisonment in the United States. A Dutchman who was involved in drug trafficking along the Silk Road was in the United States 10 years in prison.Viewing:-230
