Find a Question:
THANKS TO THE SCIENTISTS INVESTIGATE CRIMES CAN BE FASTER AND LESS EXPENSIVE
Many of us have read the science fiction stories or watching fiction movies in which police officers and detectives, reaching the scene of the crime and using a special scanner, looking for fingerprints and DNA killer and here, on the spot, compare them to your database. And although the current technologies do not allow to carry out the same analysis in real life, thanks to scientists from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology to wait until such a possibility, it seems, is very long.
In short – Scientists at MIT were able to miniaturize the technology, called mass spectroscopy. Currently, the use of such technology is possible only in special laboratories, and its essence is to analyze the different substances and their definition. As you can see, the presence of such technology at your fingertips and the ability to use it right at the crime scene could be very useful for a more rapid and effective investigation of the case.
People from MIT explained that we were able to reduce all of the components of the test equipment to the nanoscale level. And now, instead of the need for a whole specially equipped laboratories to carry out the necessary tests, the investigators will be able to use a small handheld gadgets. Say, the size of a smartphone. When the device is so effective that it can evaporate (allocate the necessary elements) samples without loss of quality.
The most important thing here is that thanks to the compact scanners cost of such analyzes can be significantly reduced with just a thousand dollars to a few hundred, so that such gadgets will be equipped with every police station.Viewing:-287
