The application Google Translate will be simultaneous translation of speech
As it became known, in the Google Translate app will soon be a function of speech recognition and interpretation it into other languages. It is expected that the update will soon be released in Google Play and the App Store.
Google Translate can recognize spoken words in multiple languages and translations made in text form. Initially, the function will only be available for the most popular and widely spoken languages - their number is likely to enter English, Spanish, Chinese, French and German. In December last year, Microsoft has introduced a similar function in test mode for Skype Translator . It allows you to simultaneously translate speech during voice calls. So far, the innovation support only two languages - Spanish and English.
Google Translate app for iOS and Android uses monthly about 50 million people. In addition, own web browser Google Chrome has a function to translate pages, and e-mail service Google Mail works in 140 languages, including Klingon, “pirate” and “Elmer Fudd”.
Google also plans to introduce a service for automatic translation of texts on road signs and signboards. The user can learn the value of foreign-language inscriptions using the camera pointing at the plate.
