The Datacenter Group buys data centers in Nieuwegein




and Rotterdam
The Datacenter Group has announced that it has acquired two data centers from the Rabo Bouwfonds Communication Infrastructure Fund. These are locations in Rotterdam and Nieuwegein.

In a notice, Rabo Bouwfonds writes that it concerns two tier 3 data centers that offer ‘housing for the it infrastructure of large Dutch and internationally operating companies and institutions’. It is unknown what amount has been paid for the locations. The Datacenter Group becomes the owner of the data centers and will manage them.

The company announces in its own message that the takeover now covers an area of ​​20,000 m² of server space with a total capacity of 30 MW. This calls itself the largest party that exclusively holds Dutch data centers. In the future The Datacenter Group wants to build up a national data center network in all Dutch regions.

The company was founded in 2007 and counts Ali Niknam, founder of bunq and TransIP as one of its two shareholders, alongside ceo Siemon van den Berg. It also has data centers in Amsterdam and Delft.
