The first working prototype of Google Project Ara (video)




We already know that the release of the modular smartphone Project Ara scheduled for early next year, but for a long time about the project there were no new details. Company Phonebloks, in cooperation with which Google is developing Project Ara, published a video that showed her research lab and a fully working prototype of a modular smartphone. It is worth noting that the video is presented prototype called Spiral 1, which has a relatively simple construction and includes several major modules such as a display, USB-connector, a processor and speakers. Apparently, the device runs on Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, but as you know, the final version will be supplied with a special version of Android 5.0 Lollipop, which will support the “hot” replacement of various modules without the need to turn off your smartphone. Conference dedicated Project Ara, will on January 14 in the US and 21 January in Singapore. They will be presented a second version called Spiral 2, which will get redeveloped and improved design. The assurances of Google, the first modular smartphone will go on sale in January next year at a price of $ 50, and the plug-in modules from different manufacturers will be sold in a special online store.
