Positive dynamics of the mobile phone market as a whole provided a double-digit growth in sales of smartphones. Total in 2014 were sold 26 million such devices in the order of 227 billion rubles. This is 39% more than last year, in units and a quarter in terms of money. Thus, the double-digit growth in sales in 2014 remained, not only in pieces, but also money.
Increasing the market in units provided strong growth in brands. According to the results, the share of such brands in kind reached 45% compared to 31% a year earlier. In the money-sale brands exceeded one-fifth of the market, accounting for 22%. Due to active sales in budget price segment declined again the average cost of a smartphone – it was 8900 rubles, which is 7% less than in 2013.
The share of smartphones in total sales of mobile phones in Russia exceeded the level of 60% – so the penetration of “smart” devices are still not reached the level of Western countries, which confirms the presence of potential sales for 2015.
