The pirates have a way of fraud on behalf of the FBI with users of Mac computers
A security company has warned of a financial fraud by a group of Internet hackers to target users of Mac computers operating system OS X.
Malwarebytes Corporation made malicious software used by hackers to access the computers of victims and show messages via browser “Safari” asking them to fines for violating the law through illegal access to pornography.
The pirates used a high-level security agencies names in messages to victims such as the CIA or the FBI to request a fine of 300 dollars.
No victims, according to security company, close the browser window that the message appears as a pop-up window appears stating that the user is unable to close the message, which increases the user’s belief that they had violated the law, they must pay a fine.
The pirate provides through deceptive means the message window for payment in order to collect funds for victims, the pirates also used fake addresses to affiliated sites for the FBI to mislead the victims they secure payment process.
Targeting fraudulent way usually Windows users, hackers found a way to implement them with users of Mac computers produced by Apple, operating system OS X.
The security company has advised victims to conduct comprehensive cleanup of the browser “Safari” to get rid of that message, go to the Safari menu in the browser and choose Reset Safari item and then select all the items in the pop-up window and press the Reset button to restart the browser.
