Sebastiaan de With may only be mid-twenties, yet he has already built an impressive resume as a designer. He worked in recent years for large companies like HP, Palm, T-Mobile and Apple. He specializes as a designer in creating icons. For example, HP he worked on the icons for their TouchSmart interface and at Apple, he worked on the style icons of Find My Friends, Find My iPhone and Mobile Me, iCloud what would be later.
After a year Sebastiaan held it again as seen at Apple and now he is Chief Creative Officer at the company Double Twist, once founded by Jon Johansen, the man who cracked the encryption of DVDs. As CCO he not only more responsible for the icons, but for the overall design of the software that makes the company. Until he went to work at Double Twist Sebastiaan always worked from the Netherlands, but for his current job, he decided to move to San Francisco.
Initially the focus was at Double Twist on the development of an iTunes clone, but intended for a wide range of media players and phones. This application still exists, but is now also paid much attention to the DoubleTwist Player for Android, an app that can play different types of media.
We went along to the office of Double Twist to talk about his current work as Chief Creative Officer, but of course with Sebiastiaan we were also very curious about the companies where he previously worked with in particular Apple.
