Tom Cabinet comes with all-you-can-eat subscription for e-books




The website for the trading of used e-books Tom Cabinet later this year with a service that allows users to borrow unlimited e-books. The service must cost 5 euros per month.

The founder of Tom Cabinet Marc Jellema, the advent of the service Friday announced during the event Startup Bootcamp in Amsterdam. This year the site will be offering subscriptions for 5 euros per month, writes Sprout, which was present at the event.

In the first quarter of 2016 the number of subscribers must then be increased to 20,000, hopes Jellema. The service should be rolled out internationally next year, to six countries. It is not known how great the service of what is offered and whether Tom Cabinet already has contracts with publishers or distribution platform CB.

Tom Cabinet came last year in the news with his service to sell used e-books. The site showed it arrive on a lawsuit over the validity of that trade. Tuesday particular the court that may be resold only legally purchased e-books. The site had to be shut down because there were insufficient measures against trafficking, but Tom Cabinet decided to remove all potentially illegal e-books from its platform and proceed anyway.
