Toshiba announces three new nvme-SSD to




Toshiba has demonstrated three SSDs with NVM Express bus. The storage memory uses MLC-NAND and controllers of the company itself. The drives serve different markets, including the enterprise market and a low-power version for tablets and ultrabooks.

Toshiba PCI-E The Japanese electronics company presented the discs in front of the Flash Memory Summit in Santa Clara. The XG3 series is designed for the demanding user and comes in M.2 2280 form factor. In that case the drive utilize four PCI-E 3.1 lanes. The 2.5 “drive variant using a SATA-Express connection. What have storage capacity for the various drives, is still unclear. It is known that the largest drives can handle 1024GB.

For tablets Toshiba brings BG1 series with a maximum storage capacity of 256GB at a ratio of 16 to 20mm. Connection is via a soldered or as a plug M.2 2230.

For server and storage services Toshiba comes with PX04P series. The series is supplied as a 2.5 “SSD or plug. The latter is available in hhhl format and can take advantage of four PCI-E 3.0 lanes. The storage memory can be accessed with a sequential read speed of 3100MB per second. Writing to the 800, 1600 or 3200 gigabytes of disk drives can with 2350MB / s.
