Total War: Three Kingdoms has been postponed until 23 May

The Creative Assembly announces that the release of Total War: Three Kingdoms has been postponed. The newest game in the Total War series should have been released on March 7, but the developer has moved up to May 23.

Creative Assembly states that Three Kingdoms contains a ‘new level of complexity’ and that therefore more time is needed to ensure that these systems function properly. In addition, the developer says that the extra time is not bad for, among other things, getting rid of troublesome bugs, improving the localization and language options and improving certain combat animations.

The game should originally have been released in the fall of 2018, but Creative Assembly announced last June that the release to the spring of 2019 was postponed . In September last year it was also announced that Feral Interactive makes ports of the strategy game for Linux and macOS . When those ports come true is still unknown.

Total War: Three Kingdoms deals with the struggle of eleven different Chinese warlords who attempt to unite China around 190 AD. The rts game is based on a romanticized version of the history from the book Romance of the Three Kingdoms , although players can also opt for a more realistic Classic Mode, in which generals are no longer supernaturally strong.
