Find a Question:
Toyota is investing in artificial intelligence for cars
Toyota has teamed up with scientists from Stanford University and MIT Technology Institute for the development of artificial intelligence. The technology should then be used in the cars of the company.
The main purpose of the investment is to prevent road casualties by making traffic safer, as Toyota has let know. According to the automaker investigations are rigged to ensure that cars are getting smarter; so should be better recognized, among other objects, including fellow road users such as cyclists, pedestrians and other motorists. Also, should the elderly who have difficulty driving a car can take advantage of to develop artificial intelligence. Intelligent systems could include errors of drivers can recognize, to correct them if any.
There will be research on the campuses of Stanford University and MIT, the two American scientific institutions that Toyota is working with. The company is investing a total of $ 50 million, representing approximately 45 million euros for the development of artificial intelligence. The money is being invested over a five year period. When the first concrete results are expected is not clear.
From the information that Toyota has released is not directly or is also working on technology to make cars self-propelled. This is something that many car manufacturers use in recent years. It is therefore likely that the technology that Toyota wants to develop there also needs to ensure that cars eventually will drive independently.Viewing:-184
