Revealed the General Authority for regulating the telecommunications sector in the UAE for new policies to license and regulate the work of electronic certification services providers in the state.

And provides certification services providers-mail solutions “electronic signatures” and “PKI public key systems” that help businesses to conduct e-commerce securely over the Internet.

The Commission explained via a statement on its official website that it aims to develop a policy and transparent organization that provides certification services providers-mail clear guidance to offer their services, and through the development of a coherent regulatory framework and effective.

Said Majid Sultan screw, Acting Director General of the Commission that those policies will contribute to the development of the level of services provided by service providers, electronic authentication especially as they are playing an active role in the growth of e-commerce in the state, and will enhance public confidence in e-commerce by ensuring the experience of trustworthy shoppers across Internet.

The Director of the Telecommunications Regulatory Authority that sales of the e-commerce sector in the UAE accounted for 60% of e-commerce sales in the Gulf states.

The policy will apply to all new electronic certification service providers licensed in the UAE such as Emirates Telecommunications Corporation “Etisalat”, Al Hilal Bank, the Global Information Technology Company.

To this, and revealed the body it will host the first summit of transactions and e-commerce in September in Dubai, will bring together this event stakeholders in the sector of e-commerce to discuss the laws and directives current and shed light on issues related to the growth sector of e-commerce through the promotion of public confidence in using electronic transactions.

The United Arab Emirates is one of the first countries in the region to take the necessary procedures to license and regulate the work of electronic certification service providers, these provisions have been issued based on the Federal Law No. (1) for the year 2006 on electronic commerce and transactions.
