Transport company Transdev launched in Amsterdam with Uber competitor

Transport company Transdev comes up with a service that has to compete with, among others Uber. Users can order a car via an app, they can share with other passengers. The company claims to be half the price of Uber and ordinary taxis.

Taxi The new service is called Abel and so far only offers rides in Amsterdam, and to and from Schiphol, reports the FD. Transdev, the parent company of Connexxion and Veolia would have invested between two and five million euros in the company. Electric taxis would further books are between seven o’clock in the morning and half past one at night, and are not found on regular taxi ranks.

The price is determined by the time when someone wants to reach its destination and how many other passengers, the user shares the taxi. The entry rate would amount to 2.50 with a kilometer price between one and two euros. All fifty drivers of the new service work for Transdev Netherlands.

Abel goes out in 2017 it cost neutral. The Information message which competitor Uber growing very fast, but also that the loss in the first half of 2015 would have amounted to a billion dollars. That converts to about 918 million euros. This could be related to the costs that the rapid growth entails.
