Tried Philips CitiScape Uptown headphones
I had some time ago the Philips Citiscape Uptown get to test his character an over-ear headphones in the price segment by just over 50 euros, if purchased from Amazon will (RRP is Euro 99.99). Personally, I use two earphones of other brands and price ranges, while the starting price Philips was interesting and the fact that the headphones are compatible with many iOS and Android devices are.
This is not very often the case, because the assignment of the plug is different in the two systems. This then ensures that certain headphones can not reproduce all the functions on both systems.
Philips solves the problem quite well, however, the volume can not fully regulate the headphones. It can not be turned off completely via the headphones, here is just the continuous control between quiet and loud possible (ok, yes you can pause for toneless). Here then accesses the same once my criticism. The volume is infinitely variable, but the controller is so smooth that the rubbing of clothes already sufficient for adjusting the volume, which I personally found quite annoying.
The volume as such is still too quiet for my taste at its highest level, this is especially noticed when you’re outside, indoor listeners is the output volume may reach (not me). The sound itself can probably be described as sufficient in the price range. Who hears rock that is missing the real dynamics that a well recorded drums in his ear. Does one always beautiful at live concerts Nightwish or if you take yourself Crematory – The Fallen are.
Euro Dance handset (there besides me who?) Can not do anything with the headphones, because all sounds are extremely mixed, since there is no real distinction between highs and lows is possible in the upper volume range.
Sonically, I must say that I have not ripped the headphones off the stool, which is a shame because as a true over-ear I like it anyway. Is comfortable with its 40 mm speakers well and the sound insulation is outdoor ok.
Positives: Good for big ears, even after many hours of comfort, I think it looks good. 1.2 m cable length is sufficient. Compatible with iOS and Android, with a 50 euro actually remains to be assessed as favorable.
Negative: poor remote with volume control for smooth running. Maximum volume is too low and in terms of sound just average.
