Trooper last year slightly less devices searched at the airport. Especially the number of phones and SIM cards that State Police searched dropped. It is largely for devices travelers.

In total, the State Police searched in 2013 1807 devices at Schiphol, it appears from documents of the active researcher at Bits of Freedom Pellicula Zenger has requested . In 2012 these were 1850 devices. The number of investigated devices at Schiphol has been falling since 2011, especially the number of investigated phones has been declining since that year. Which in 2011 were more than 1900 phones under investigation, there were in 2012, 1718 and last year only 1642. The number of investigated hard drives, audio and video players, and other storage media took it slightly.

It comes to devices that have been investigated by the military police at Schiphol. The customs forms part of this, but the figures are not broken down. “It’s largely to investigations by customs,” said Zenger. It may also involve personnel and equipment from Schiphol to the Military Police intercepted packets.
