TU Delft achieves second place in Hyperloop-game SpaceX

Submission of TU Delft in the Hyperloop competition organized by SpaceX has achieved second place. They get the next time the opportunity to test their design of the futuristic transportation system in California.

In the second place, TU Delft had to leave the victory to the team of the prestigious Institute of Technology MIT, according to the result which include by The Verge published. However, the Delft researchers were awarded the first prize for the most innovative design. In total there are about 100 universities and institutes participated in the competition organized by aerospace company SpaceX.

The best teams, including therefore those of TU Delft, have the opportunity to actually build and test their design of the rapid transport system. According to plans, the vehicle must reach a speed of more than 1000 kilometers per hour and must be able to carry both passengers and freight. Tweakers wrote a backstory on the design of the TU Delft, where are explained the technical features of the Hyper Loop.
