TU Delft builds compact autopilot chip for drones
TU Delft say the smallest autopilot developed world. To own The software called Lisa / S autopilot is completely open source, and the hardware design of the chip that is intended for drones.
The Lisa / S-autopilot by a team of researcher Bart Remes developed at the Faculty of Aerospace Engineering at TU Delft. The Lisa / S module contains not only a processor but also various sensors, waarondeer a three-axis gyroscope, an accelerometer, a compass, a barometer and a GPS module. The module measures 2x2cm and weighs 1.9 grams.
The Lisa / S design is the compact size and low weight particularly useful for use in drones. According Remes, working in the laboratory micro aerial vehicle, is both the software for the Lisa / S as the open source hardware design. The control software can be a drone which a Lisa / S processor is present control via a standard RC transmitter.
