Turn your online community to Legoland

Who wants delusions in a Lego world, now do not go to an amusement park abroad. A developer has created namely a generator that relies on imagery in Google Maps.

The Swedish developer Einar Öberg built web application Brick Street View , which combines images from Google Maps with a generated environment. Before the Öberg is using LDraw, a free standard for LEGO cadprogramma programs. LDraw is responsible for the generated carts and trees to make things a little livelier.

For loading ldraw used the Swede BRIGL, a javascript library that stops the data in Three.js. Thus, the environment can be generated. More technical details have Öberg stopped on the about page of the project. It also shows that he earlier project worked to Maps images to conjure up a real life jungle.

Lego is often not only in the interest of young creatives, but also adults. Lego masters Dan Steininger and Christ built in preparation for the Star Wars Day world’s biggest Millennium Falcon from Lego bricks ever. Apart from Han Solo’s ship, they also came with two TIE Fighter space hunters.
