Twitch brings application for Android TV out

Twitch has announced an app for the Android OS television TV. With the application it is possible to view live streams of gamers. Twitch comes simultaneously with an update to its mobile chat service Whisper.

The application for Android TV was on the blog of Twitch announced. The software allows users on their televisions more or less do the same things as the other applications that Twitch is released. Thus, it is of course possible to view live streams of gaming sessions, but there is also support for the monitoring of channels, and games. Video is transmitted at a resolution of 1920×1080 pixels and a frame rate of 60fps.

Furthermore, the mobile Whisper gets new features. Whisper is the chat app which Twitch some time ago released. Version 2.0, according to the maker an “enhanced chat experience. This allows users to quickly view their messages, but also light the creator changes not in detail. The update comes as no surprise: the beta test had started earlier and Twitch had announced in December, bringing the updated application. The Whisper application can be downloaded to the Android operating system.
