Twitter today announced the launch of a new system that allows people to make money through its live broadcast service, Periscope, in an attempt to compete with YouTube and other services in the search for Internet talent.

The company said people watching Prescope would be able to send artists and publishers who love them rewards using a variety of heart shapes that are actually virtual currency they can buy.

Broadcasters who receive the equivalent of $ 175 from Super Hearts will be classified as “super publishers” and will be able to spend money as profits, Twitter said. The new feature will initially be available to publishers in the United States, but Prescope plans to expand to other countries soon.

After a fee and payment process, publishers will receive 70% of the remaining revenue, Twitter said. Prescope, launched by Twitter in 2015, has broadcast a total of 77 million hours of live video in the first three months of this year.
