Twitter allows users to choose chronological timeline

without suggestions

Twitter will introduce an option that allows users to choose a timeline where the most recent tweets are shown in chronological order, without the timeline being crossed by ‘relevant tweets’ based on algorithms.

Twitter reports that this new option to switch between a traditional, reverse chronological timeline and a timeline with suggestions based on algorithms will be tested in the coming weeks. It is unknown when the new function is introduced exactly.

In the meantime, Twitter will add another change to the institution to show the most relevant tweets. If that option is disabled, suggestions are no longer displayed in the form of tweets that the user may have missed and come from people who are not tracked.

Since February 2016, ‘relevant tweets’ have also been shown on the basis of algorithms in the timeline. Twitter now comes with the possibility to adjust. According to The Verge, the company has been working on this for some time and it is not a reaction to a Twitter user who recently shared a way to keep the highlights and suggested tweets of the timeline away.
