Twitter ends support for Xbox, Roku and Android TV

Twitter has announced that it will remove the Twitter apps for Xbox, Roku and Android TV on Thursday. The apps were limited in functionality and were badly rated in the various app stores.

The social medium has announced the termination of the support on Twitter . The app can not be downloaded from the official stores from 24 May. Twitter indicates that users on the platforms can access the social media via their internet browser on their devices.

The deleted apps were not very popular . On the Xbox it is not possible to log in and post messages and the app can only display an overview of messages that are currently popular. The versions for Android TV and Roku are similar and are also poorly rated.

Twitter seems to be busy cleaning up with its app offer. In February, the company removed the application for macOS . According to the company, this measure was intended to provide a ‘more consistent experience’.
