Twitter launches web notifications for direct messages

Twitter will now use notification functionality in desktop browsers such as Firefox and Chrome to inform its users are when they have received a direct message. Users must specify an opt-in for this.

Twitter allows news announced via Twitter. Although the company reports that showed everyone the opt-in can indicate the link that leads them to give the messages page, but it does not always find the option to enable notifications. Probably the feature is somewhat gradually rolled out and could sooner or later all users can use the notifications.
