Twitter plays videos now automatically

Twitter allows videos in its iOS app and on its website now automatically play in the timelines of users. That made the company announced on Tuesday. The adjustment follows Twitter include Facebook.

Twitter announced in a blog post that adjustment is in line with other changes that should make it easier to view images. As it restricted the number of all American Internet operations before a video could be played. It also introduced a native camera and showed the Vines and videos directly in the timelines of users.

The update play videos, Vines and gifs automatically once users see them appear in status updates. Sounds while no sound, because that must be tapped in the movie itself. Automatic playback of moving images, incidentally happens only in the iOS app and the website of Twitter. An update to the Android app will follow soon. It is not clear whether the functionality is coming to Windows Phone and BlackBerry.

Twitter follows the alignment including Facebook, which in 2013 left all videos automatically play in the timelines of its users. However, the tech company stressed that it remains possible to turn off the option, both in the app and on the site in the settings menu.
