Two Danes arrested for Popcorn Time-information site




The Danish police have arrested two men that would run two websites that users explaining how to use the various forks of the popular Popcorn Time. Interestingly, the sites are not linkten to copyrighted material.

The two domains, and are now in the hands of the Danish Public Prosecutor. On the landing pages you can read that the Danish public prosecutor for serious economic crimes and international investigating a case where these two domain names are involved.

TorrentFreak writes that the two men, both 30, have already known. The two sites yielded news and information about Popcorn Time. The English version of the site,, is still in the air. They hostten the software fails and distributed no copyrighted data. According to prosecutors, the men are still violate copyright laws and can be imposed up to six years in prison.

Similar Dutch websites like and by Brein also taken off the air. The operators of these sites have paid a settlement to the Dutch copyright watchdog.
