Two OnePlus getting Snapdragon 810-soc “without overheating problems’




OnePlus gives his upcoming Two smartphone access to an enhanced version of Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 810 soc. This would be optimized and therefore do not suffer from overheating, a problem often heard in smartphones with the soc.

That the company has announced via a post on its community forum. In the upcoming OnePlus Two Snapdragon 810 is built, the current top model of soc chip designer Qualcomm. It OnePlus states that opted for a new version of the chip, with number 2.1. The manufacturer claims that there has collaborated with Qualcomm to the chip even further fine-tuning, to have no burden of overheating problems. Among other things, the placement of thermal grease and graphite in the right places on the chip has to ensure that the heat is better distributed and therefore not concentrated in one location. Also the rest of the hardware and software is designed to prevent overheating, but OnePlus specifies that no further.

Qualcomm has been struggling for some time with problems of its Snapdragon 810 soc. In the development were problems with overheating which it briefly seemed that manufacturers had to postpone their high-ends smartphones. After the release were still reports of users who complained about performance problems by overheating include at owners of the HTC One M9. Version 2.1 of the chip is incidentally also used in other devices like the Sony Xperia Z3 +, again there are problems with heat.

Further states OnePlus that its proprietary OxygenOS, a slightly modified version of Android has been optimized to run on the Snapdragon 810. The software would include focus on choosing the right core for a particular task. So fast Cortex A57 cores have to handle tasks that require a lot of computing power, while light tasks are assigned to the slower but more economical Cortex A53 cores. Either type cores, the Snapdragon 810 four, and in addition there is the Adreno 430 GPU.

OnePlus later gives more information about the specifications of the Two, which follow the popular One smartphone. The company has long been engaged in the development, and according to rumors coming from the device sometime in the summer. In all probability, the OnePlus Two expensive than its predecessor.
