UK smartphone maker WileyFox brings Cyanogen smartphones to Netherlands




British smartphone maker WileyFox brings its appliances Swift and Storm in the Netherlands. The company announced the devices this summer for release in the UK, but the midrange smartphones with Cyanogen OS appear in the foreseeable future in the Netherlands.

It is unknown when exactly the release will take place. The British manufacturer presented two smartphones in late August. WileyFox wants to distinguish itself from Chinese smartphones with support in Europe. Additionally, users can take out insurance against damage to the screen, which the manufacturer promises to repair the display in case of damage.

The most expensive of the two, the Storm, with a 5.5 “LCD with full HD resolution and a Qualcomm Snapdragon 615-soc, assisted by 3GB of RAM. For 32GB storage is available. The phone supports 4G at all in Netherlands frequencies used for LTE. WileyFox using a Sony IMX220 -cameramodule at the back, with 1.2 micrometer large pixels and a resolution of 20 megapixels. The front camera has a maximum resolution of eight megapixels. The battery is not removable and has a capacity of 2500mAh. The device will retail for 299 euros.

The Swift is a cheaper model with 5 “screen with 1280×720 pixels and a Qualcomm Snapdragon 410-soc with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of storage. The 900MHz band that is not T-Mobile’s commitment to 4G supports cheaper Swift, but for the rest Users in these markets via all 4G frequencies used online. The phone has a 13 megapixel camera from Samsung on the back and a front camera. a maximum resolution of five megapixels, unlike the more expensive Storm Swift has a 2500mAh battery which is interchangeable. There is support for dualsim and the unit comes in September for 179 euros.

Both devices run on Cyanogen OS, the company’s operating system behind CyanogenMod, the most famous custom rom for Android smartphones. Cyanogen OS on devices based on Android 5.1.
