Upcoming Asus smart watch with long battery life are not running Android Wear




The smart watch with long battery life that Asus is working on not running on Android Wear and may contain a soc that MediaTek has developed, so did the CEO of Asus announced. The smart watch is in addition to a new model in the Zenwatch series from which it runs Android Wear.

According to Asus CEO Jerry Shen has a battery life of worry for Android Wear. “We continue to work with Google on Android Wear but there comes another smart watch that is not based on Android Wear and offers longer battery life,” he said after a meeting investors according to Focus Taiwan. The non-Android smart watch is possible according to the CEO of a soc MediaTek, which is still in development.

The statements follow earlier announcements from the CEO that a simpler processor and operating system used for an Asus smart watch that will last seven days on a single battery charge. At current Zenwatch Android Wear is that two days. A successor who Zenwatch comes in the third quarter, Shen had already loose, and that model with Android Wear will include the ability to call their own.
