Find a Question:
Update antivirus software Norton Internet Explorer makes unusable
Norton antivirus software ensures that after an update for Internet Explorer users can no longer launch the browser. The problems occur with versions 10 and 11, but other browsers such as Chrome and Firefox would not be viable.
Many users make since Friday reported on the problems in the forums Norton. An update of the antivirus software Norton Security seems to have made sure that Internet Explorer crashes on startup. The problems have been reported with versions 10 and 11 of the browser on Windows 7 and Windows 8.x. Also on GoT make Norton users reporting the problems. With other browsers seem to do no problems.
From the error messages it can be seen that IPSEng32.dll, a file associated with the anti-virus software, is guilty. Other users report that a new version of the file scrx86ie.dat the cause of the problems. Restoring an old version of this file might have some users of Internet Explorer to ensure that the browser is usable again. Also uninstalling Norton Security makes Internet Explorer functional again. When users who have Norton Security without the Friday dispersed update the browser will continue to operate, which makes clear that the problems are on the side of the antivirus software.
Developer Symantec does not seem to have responded to the problems. Therefore is not yet clear when an update comes out which should fix the browser crash.Viewing:-318
