Update Windows Phone 8.1 supports new screen




Windows Phone 8.1 supports a new screen resolution: 960×540 pixels. This shows a list of possible hardware elements of Windows Phone devices. The highest supported resolution remains still 1920×1080 pixels.

The list for Windows Phone 8.1 Update 1 would have appeared on a developer Microsoft site and is publicly online put by WMPU. The lowest supported resolution stays 800×480 pixels, where there is an option for 854×480 pixels. The Lumia 530 and Lumia 630 have that resolution and use the extra 54 pixels at the bottom for onscreen buttons.

The hardware requirements is also notable that Microsoft requires a proximity sensor. They have Microsoft’s own Lumia 630 and 530 are not. It is unknown whether it is a mistake, or Microsoft has narrowed to its own devices to make a lower price possible, or that it means that both devices can get to Update 1 of Windows Phone 8.1.
