Upscale: tweak that allows you to change the resolution of the iPhone screen




In Cydia there was one of the most unusual jailbreak tweaks for iOS. Behind the seemingly common name Upscale hides unique superstructure, with which you can change the screen resolution of the iPhone and iPod touch.

What is it? Firstly, you can now install the iPhone 5 or iPhone 5s resolution displays top iPhone 6 or iPhone 6 Plus. As a result, the interface elements iOS will become smaller, and the screen will display more useful information. Furthermore, in the case of the iPhone 6 Plus will be horizontal desktop mode and a number of other features “planshetofonnoy” OS.

Upscale installed and works like any other tweak from Cydia. In the settings it adds the same menu item to change the resolution. Here the available preset settings – iPhone 4 / 4s (960 x 640 pixels), iPhone 5 / 5s (1136 x 640 pixels), iPhone 6 (1334 x 750 pixels) and the iPhone 6 Plus (1920×1080 pixels). Custom field allows you to specify an arbitrary display resolution. The developer recommends using the standard presets, they are guaranteed to be run on the devices.

Experiments with Upscale showed that tweak does not always work out correctly custom screen resolution and can cause “eternal apple.” Nevertheless, when using the default settings, you can achieve interesting results. For the iPhone 5 and 5s best resolution iPhone 6.


Upscale can be found in a separate repository To add a new source in Cydia, you need to go to the section Sources -> Edit -> Add -> Add and specify the address of the repository. To work Upscale also need a package Preferenceloader.
